Pin Cushion Urchins

The catch of the day was a little smaller yesterday. Found one more purple one today.
Also found a large group of plankton. I was able to strain some from the water and basically got free fish food for a long, long time. Got about two gallons of just plankton...no water at all.

Another Resident of Gator Lake

Found him while strolling through the nature trails of the park. Can't get much more nature-y than that, now can ya? I got about five feet from him to take the shot. He seemed not to care at all.

Mindfreak

Who has watched this guy? What an amazing entertainer. Criss Angel has the mindfreak thing down. (Doesn't hurt that he's scrumptious, either) ;)

Mindfreak:

n 1: a modern day mystifier who utilizes skills beyond the category of magic. 2: the result of something incomprehensible.

Every chance I get, I watch this guy's show. Mike suggested it, so I watched. (Thanks, Mike) Now, I am amazed every time I see it. I try to explain what happens, but can't. I think he makes David Copperfield look silly in comparison. Well worth the watch if you have a minute. His show is on A & E every Wednesday night. Wow.

The UFC

I love this sport. The Ultimate Fighting Championship. I know, I know...not the typical "girl" sport, but why put a label on it? It's amazing watching these men beat the crap outta each other. Why, you may ask? Maybe it's the raw man-ness of it all. Maybe, it's the memories of going to Pan-Am boxing with my dad. Maybe, I'm just weird. Who knows? But I love it. Chuck Liddell is great. Matt Serra is another great one to watch. He fights this Thursday. I'll be there, fascinated. Woo Woo.

I would love to add some pictures to this post, but we know my Blog friends won't allow that. Pfft! I don't think they are ever gonna fix it.

10 Things I Love About Florida

1. The sunshine.

2. Where else can you see a crab run across the road?

3. The accessability to so many other great places.

4. The beach is right over there.

5. The fact that one can be snorkeling in the "kiddie pool" in the park and be met by a 10 foot shark. Oh, yeah, it really happened. Saturday, September 23, 2006. Holy Shit!

6. I've only seen 4 bugs since I've been here and I killed one of those. Sorry little fella, but you shouldn't have bit me. It's bad form.

7. Snow? Oh, I think not.

8. The vast amount of sea creatures I get to look at, pick up, and/or see.

9. The slow easy pace of everyone. As well as the kindness of the people here. Everyone says hi and asks how your day is going. The greatest part is that they wait to hear the answer.

10. The interesting things to do. This week Thunder Beach. Next week seafood festivals. After that, who knows?

The Catch of the Day

Caught these on Saturday. Spanish Mackeral measuring on average 18" from nose to fork of tail. Caught 11 more on Sunday.

Another interesting catch. It was returned to the ocean.
